WC Tutoring
About
I've been tutoring for the last 7 years in advanced math and science courses. I've also assisted many students with essay editing and general counseling on the side regarding their academic choices for their anticipated career paths. I've worked as a private tutor and company tutor at a prep academy known as Harvard Square Academy.
My service comes with accessibility via text and e-mail for simple questions that don't require a full-fledged session. I believe in offering all that I can to help my students excel. I have access to various resources from my previous employment, my own course materials from undergraduate and graduate studies. I've always been a competitive student and know what it takes to do well in school and what is necessary to stay motivated and on top of your A-game. Without that, I would not be currently pursuing a PhD in Biophysics and getting through it.
I like building a personal connection with my students so that I'm more of a mentor and friend to assist them in pursuing their academic/career goals. It brings me joy to see my students excel and have that 'aha!' moment.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
My first session involves asking the student about their goals and interests, what is their strengths and weaknesses at in class, and what they find they need the most help with. I then spend the rest of the first session assessing their aptitude to develop a supplemental set of work for them to do to advance and remedy their grasp of the concepts.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have two bachelor's degrees in engineering (biomedical and materials science), a master's degree in optical physics, and currently pursuing my doctorate in Biophysics. I've worked at various medical device startups and also founded my own at the end of college. I've received grants for my previous research and startup pursuits and recently attended an international meeting on laser physics with other scientists from around the world.
