About

I have been teaching for over 10 years. I teach privately full-time and run my own company. I personally hire other enthusiastic and experienced music teachers to work with me. I believe learning music should be fun. While it also takes hard work and dedication, a student must first enjoy music in order to continue and progress. My teachers and I incorporate well-known songs into lessons so that students can relate to what they are learning. We also use many of our own games and worksheets to keep students engaged at all times. We offer many different types of lessons including singing, piano, acting, guitar, songwriting, and much more. We also offer two (optional) recitals each year so that students can showcase what they have learned.

I love watching students of all ages progress and accomplish things they never thought they could accomplish. This helps a student to grow not only as a musician, but also as a person. I have watched all of our students become more confident as their lessons progress. It's exciting because music education is so much more than just teaching students notes on a page.

Frequently asked questions

When I first speak with a new student, we discuss what instrument he/she wants to learn, the type of music the student is interested in, any previous lessons he/she may have taken, and scheduling. I then match the student with an instructor who is a good fit. Students usually meet once a week. Many students continue with us for years.

We work with students who are beginners all the way through advanced musicians. Most of our students are children who are learning an instrument for the first time, but some students come to us after they have taken music lessons before. No matter a student's skill level, it is important to us that lessons are fun and engaging.

I am always proud of our recitals. This performance is a special time for students to show off what they have learned. I am so pleased to see how good the performers feel after the show. It is a fun, positive experience that hopefully inspires students to study music for years to come.

Make sure the instructor can relate to the student and make lessons engaging. There are many people who are talented musicians. This does not mean they are also great teachers. A great teacher can make learning music a wonderful experience that students look forward to. Don't just pick an instructor because he/she has a degree from a well-known music school or a long performance resume. Pick someone who understands how to pass along this knowledge to the next generation of musicians.
