Japanese Tutor @ Heart Of Manhattan
About
Hello! Thank you for your interest in Japanese language and culture! The reason I want to teach Japanese is simply that I feel love towards people who are eager to learn Japanese.
Global communication has been my strongest interest in my entire life. I was born and grew up in Japan, studied Art and Design in Tokyo as well as in London. I worked as a translator/ interpreter in Tokyo, then I moved to New York in 1997 and received an MA in International Relations. While I have my career as a small business owner in Manhattan, I have completed a Japanese teacher training course of a total 420 hours plus teaching training for 30 hours in 2019. Now I enjoy teaching Japanese so much.
What I can offer you:
1. Customized lesson plans according to your goal and Japanese level
Rather than relying on textbooks, we will use my own and handmade materials because in the real world we don't have textbooks. We will only use real things. If you want to learn Japanese for traveling we'll practice as we are actually traveling and experiencing Japan. If you are at an advanced level we will use movies, anime, or novels as study materials. I will make each grammar and vocabulary memorable through real-world experience lessons. Because language is easier to learn if connected to experiences.
2. Daily text message practice
Also we will practice every day! - even for a few minutes, but every day, so you will accumulate experiences- that's how I learned English.
3. Practice sessions with other students
Every month on Saturday afternoon we meet at my office and practice Japanese in a friendly atmosphere.
I would like to meet passionate students. We will have private and customized lessons with fun in a quiet, cozy office room in the center of Manhattan!
