About
You know how nearly every History class you've taken has been boring and made you not want to be there? I am the complete opposite. As a History tutor since high school, I will absolutely guarantee that you'll come out with an A in whichever History class you are in, and you'll have fun doing so. Trust me.
As far as I'm concerned, History is an interesting subject unfortunately made dull by boring people. Little makes me happier than teaching someone how fun and genuinely crazy history can be.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I will typically begin by asking what the student's opinion on History is. Boring? Great? Somewhere in between? From there we'll delve into the subject at hand, stopping along the way to show how funny, memorable and utterly absurd History can be. By the time I'm done, not only will the student have passed with flying colors, but the illusion that History is a boring subject will be broken forever. It really isn't. History is both hilarious and poignant.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been a tutor since high school, helping my classmates and friends to overcome what is all too often a dry subject. I graduated with a 3.9 GPA from Rutgers University, earning my Bachelors magna cum laude. I am also the president of the Rutgers History Club's Ireland branch, teaching Irish history to anyone who wishes to hear an interesting and tragic story.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
No. Everything is up for negotiation. Feel free to haggle with me, I'm likely more reasonable than other tutors you'll meet.
How did you get started teaching?
I began unofficially teaching back during high school, when I was assisting my friends with their work. It turns out I had a talent for making dry subjects interesting enough to pay attention to. As time went on, it became natural to make a career of it.
What types of students have you worked with?
Typically high school and college students, though I will tutor absolutely anyone.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I took a class in Italy a summer ago. It was beautiful, if very, very hot. I recommend it to any student who can find a way to circumvent the cost (look for scholarships! They're there!).
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Can they keep your attention on the subject at hand? If not, move along. History should never be boring, and if it seems as such, it's an issue with the teacher. Find someone who lets you have fun with it. It is the absolute best way to learn History.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
I would say to outline what goals you hope to get out of the subject, and be honest about them. Are you looking to learn a particular thing? Great. Are you only looking to pass and move on? Great, that can be done too. Let the teacher know what you wish to get out of the class first though, then they can help you get there.
