I am an award-winning college lecturer, with a PhD in history (US History and Modern European History), and a proven track record as an educator. I develop a curriculum to meet each student’s specific needs, with in-person or videoconferencing meetings supported by web-based online applications and resources. In-person services are available in Jersey City, and the New York metropolitan area. Unfortunately, I cannot tutor students enrolled at Rutgers University-Newark.

Through my experiences learning from Dr. Friedman I have gained a much deeper appreciation for studying history. His pure enthusiasm, and vast knowledge (that you cannot find in a textbook) intensified my eagerness to become a history teacher. Dr. Friedman has the ability to explain a topic in depth and yet simplify it with his witty humor. He encouraged me to dig deeper, and question our nations history. It has been an extremely rewarding experience to have Dr. Friedman as my tutor.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I hold a Doctor of Philosophy degree from one of the top research universities in the United States, and I have studied with some of the leading historians in America today, including Jackson Lears, Joan Scott, and Allison Isenberg.

What types of students have you worked with?

I have worked primarily with college students -- freshmen to seniors -- at the most diverse universities in North America.
