Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When working with a new student, the first step I follow is to understand the student’s needs, expectations, and interests (since each of them is very different and have their own particular interests, hobbies, and objectives) in order to facilitate and motivate their learning process.
Based on this information I create the best strategies and activities to help the student accomplish their desired results. After creating the best program according to the student’s necessities, I explain the process and methods to apply so the learner feels comfortable with the course and can also know what to expect.
The next step is to let the student know that continuous feedback will be given so that they can build their confidence and enhance their knowledge throughout all the tutorials.
Every student is different and special, with their own needs and passions. I really like to know more about my students, to ask them questions about themselves, their dreams, their interests, hobbies, and what they like or dislike.
That strategy, allows me to select the best pedagogical tools and resources to keep my students motivated and focused. By identifying their own passions and needs I am able to teach and choose the best education methods and creative ways to achieve the best learning process for each student, accompanying and motivating them through all their learning process.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would tell a student who is looking for a Spanish teacher to find a tutor who is passionate about his job as an educator. Thanks to this, the classes will have for sure high-level standards and will be very dynamic as well.
Furthermore, I will advise the student to hire a teacher who is very enthusiastic about the subject so that this enthusiasm and commitment can be passed on to all the students who receive class with this tutor.
Additionally, I would recommend looking for a professional who is able to understand the learner’s needs, likes, and objectives as a way to foster the student’s knowledge and motivation in improving the skills on the language.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
It is essential that students analyze and consider different aspects before starting a new learning project so that clear goals are set from the beginning and they can be achieved.
For these reasons, there are some significant questions that I consider a student needs to reflect on before talking to a tutor about his needs:
1. What are the main reasons I have to learn Spanish as a second language?
2. What are my expectations about these lessons?
3. What are my short, medium, and long-term goals in terms of learning and improving my Spanish level?
4. What strategies can I start implementing in my life to succeed in becoming proficient in this new language?
5. What are the most important characteristics I am looking for in my Spanish teacher?
Along with this, students should think about the way they would like to learn, or they think it is easier for them, in that way they can share that information with the teacher and talk about the best method or activities that can be used in lessons. It is fundamental students think about the reasons for taking the classes, and what would help them to feel more motivated and encouraged.
