Greek Tutoring
About
CHILDREN
I have been teaching Greek for five years to children of a wide age range, from pre- school to older children, privately and at an early education foreign language school program in Manhattan.
Through playing, singing, art and crafts, learning Greek becomes a fun process where the child's creativity and self expression are respected and valued. Learning how to read and write is also a major goal which is achieved in a nurturing environment.
Being raised in Greece I am familiar with the Greek culture and coming from a multidisciplinary background (law, fine arts, dance and theater) helps me bring together different elements in order to create a rich experience for the children. I accommodate my methods to suit each student's personality and pay attention to their individual needs and interests.

ADULTS
I have five years experience teaching adults from beginners to more advanced levels. I am using the most popular Greek learning methods, which I constantly update, every time I travel to Greece.
Through my studies at Athens Law School and my personal passion for the Greek language (and languages in general) I approach grammar, the construction of sentences and the etymology of words, with the joy of discovery.
Being born and raised in Athens, Greece, I am familiar with the Greek culture and well versed in Greek idioms and everyday expressions. I believe in the combination of everyday conversation and the understanding of how a language works. Setting a good base can help the student progress and not be restricted to the basics for ever.
With more advanced students we use articles and conversation topics based on their interests. I always adapt lessons based on the interests and personal goals of each individual and I am very flexible in constructing a lesson plan that suits these needs.
