German Tutoring
About
I have taught German at an immersive language camp twice, once in-person and once virtually, so I have a really good grasp of how to make language learning just as fun as it is efficient. I am also very understanding of how language-learning can be tough, but I am passionate about helping students until they reach that ah-hah moment and finally understand a concept they've been struggling with.
I really enjoy how rewarding teaching languages is. Not only am I giving my students a new skill, but I am giving them the ability to communicate with an entirely different population and culture. I love when my students have breakthroughs in their understanding and when they get to see their language skills improving, and I work hard to make sure that every student I tutor feels they are making progress they are proud of.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We will go through what your goals for our sessions are and I will prepare course material and games to get us started!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have taught German for teenage groups for two summers in a row at an immersive language camp. The second time was this summer in a virtual format, making me adept at using Zoom as an online classroom. I also am half-German and have a passion for the language and bringing the joy of language-learning to others.
What types of students have you worked with?
I typically work with students from the ages of 10-18 years old.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Every time a student has that ah-hah moment of understanding a difficult grammar concept or a word they recognize and finally understand, it puts a huge smile on my face.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Don't be afraid to ask questions and let teachers know exactly what you want to learn! If you don't have any idea, that's ok too :)
