Tutoring should be fun and effective. Social Academia empowers many students in the face of various school challenges they encounter on a daily basis. Our team of well-experienced tutors attended top teaching programs (Harvard Graduate School of Education-EdX and more).

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Each student has to take a placement test. Based on the results, we know what gap to fill or what step to take next. Then, based on the program requirements students will either be placed in a group with other same-level peers.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
All our instructors and tutors hold at least a bachelor's degree. Most also hold a Master's degree in specialized fields. We are driven by our students, our commitment to helping them succeed.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Usually, students would simply purchase a monthly or yearly package as indicated on our website. Based on the type of program they chose, they would receive equivalent services.
$170: all-school year coverage/ one 45-min group lesson per week + Summer program

How did you get started teaching?
Since high school, I have identified an innate ability to help others-especially peers who struggled with difficult topics. Fluent understanding of most school topics easily came to me, and I felt that the best way to utilize that ability was to share knowledge with others. Then I started teaching myself.
What types of students have you worked with?
We have worked with a wide variety of students. From 5 to 66 years old, from all walks of life, our students came to us and always thanked us for the great service we have thus far provided.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
When our students get comfortable enough to teach us something new, then we feel very well rewarded. A 66-year old French language student of ours, who is very dedicated to learning and always chasing knowledge, was bold enough to teach his instructor ten new French words in the correct context. His tutor was quite amazed to realize how advanced the student had become after a few months of service. This is a memory that will never leave as we know that we are doing an amazing job and transforming lives.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Test them. Have them take a placement test and provide you with above-average results.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
They should know exactly what their needs are and be able to somehow explain them to teachers.
