What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Asessing a student's needs is paramount. Once goals are understood we will move forward in a systematic fashion to teach the words and phrases you need to be understood by others on a day to day basis.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
With a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theater, I understand the need to be understood. Working in the restaurant business and in the garden I learned Spanish which has opened many doors. I want to help you to be understood. I have taught a great deal over the years and I'm a patient soul.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I charge $15 per hour. I would strongly urge class with me 2-3 times a week for the first few months. Classes include postres y cafe.
How did you get started teaching?
Helping others in various jobs. Since I spoke Spanish I was able to help others learn to speak better English.
What types of students have you worked with?
Mostly Latinos. I have a great appreciation for Latino culture and have visited Mexico many times.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
The Ballet Folklorio in Mexico City was a wonderful experience during the Christmas holiday season. Filled with singing and dancing and colorful costumes that celebrated families in a truly glorious way.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
If you're not comfortable with a tutor after the first lesson, don't return. You have to feel comfortable when working with your tutor. I am easy to be with and a good listener, always available for your questions.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
How much time do you really want to commit to meeting? How much are you really going to study outside of tutoring? Afterall it's not just the hour or two we spend together. The work you do outside of our sessions is very important
