Hello!
I was born in NY but moved to Taiwan when I was only 4 months old. I was raised by my grandparents and attended a mix of local/American schools while there. Upon moving back to the states during Middle School, I attended a local Chinese school on weekends where I soon became a TA. I also have extensive volunteer experience working with children, teaching both English and Chinese.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I normally charge half or don't charge for the first lesson, depending on individual circumstances. The first lesson would be to determine the level of the student, and allow me to create an approach tailored to the student. This also allows the student to determine whether they would enjoy my lessons. I would then create a lesson plan, which is discussed with the student or their parents.
