About
I love science! I am a high school science teacher based in Idaho, and have won awards and recognition for the quality of my teaching. Prior to working in Idaho, I was a science teacher in New York City for 15 years, and I am also an adjunct professor of science at Syracuse University. I have had to develop curriculum for many of the schools in which I have worked, and thus have a deep knowledge of the content as well as how to teach science to students.
To help students reach their goals, I believe it is important to get to know them, how they learn best, and to make learning fun. I am passionate about science and love connecting with students and helping them find interest in the subject as well!
I love helping students persevere through challenges and achieve goals they didn't know they could accomplish. I truly enjoy getting to know and working with students. Although I am usually the teacher, I feel like I always end up learning just as much from my wonderful students!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I get to know them, what they are into and their experiences with learning (what has worked, what hasn't), and their overall attitude towards what we will be learning. I also always make sure to be clear on a student's goals and what they want to get out of our partnership. All of this helps me plan sessions that will be productive, effective, and fun!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have an undergraduate degree in biology and a masters degree in education. I have been teaching science in high schools in NYC for 15 years, and am also an adjunct professor of science at Syracuse University.
