I love student interaction. Learning need not always be so serious. In fact, it should be enjoyable.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I try to ascertain the student's learning style, and tailor all instruction to that style. I use a series of questions to help the student find the information, or develop the process of acquiring information.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have studied in both the US (Columbia University, Stony Brook University, University of Virginia), as well as abroad(Universität Mozarteum, Salzburg, Austria;Oxford, UK). I have over twenty years teaching experience in multiple subject areas.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My fee per hour is $60 for general middle, and high school subjects, and $75 for AP courses, college courses, and adult language instruction. For ASVAB, the charge is $60/hr. I have some flexibility for lessons exceeding 1 hr.
How did you get started teaching?
As a young pilot, I started teaching aviation ground school. As a speaker of many languages, I was frequently asked to help non-English speaking students. Since I already had a MA in Germanic Languages, I got an ESL teaching license, and things went from there.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with every type of student imaginable: gifted and talented, students with ADHD, students on the Autism spectrum, students with sprach apraxia, English Language learners, non-English speakers, students with physical disabilities, including visually impaired.
