What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to meet the child in their setting. Seperately I like to meet with the parent(s) to understand their goals for their child.
Often times, the best success is to put words in action. Children are amazingly simple. A better grade in a quiz, a little more understanding of what they are being taught changes the child and they blossom.
What I see is that if the student connects with me, everything else just follows.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelors in Mathematics and a Minor in Statistics. I have taught kids for a long time. My mother had a teaching school where she taught (and still does) foregin languages to students who came to India.
Honestly, teaching is in my blood.
