Hello! My names Amanda Minton and I am a NYS certified teacher for childhood education; General ed./special ed. grades 1-6 with a B-2 extension as well. I have worked with children for many years and love watching them learn and grow.
I believe every student has the capability to be successful, it’s just a matter of differentiating the material to fit their particular needs.
My strong area is English Language Arts & Social studies. I do, however, tutor all subject areas.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When working with a new student, I like to ask about some of their interests and hobbies. I then ask them how they typically learn, for example, when their is a visual given or when the teacher disucsses the written notes on the powerpoint. This helps me break down how best to present the review information to the student.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Work that currently relates for this job is I am a pre-k teacher at Parsons Preschool in Queens Village, NY. I have a Dual masters degree in Early chidlhood education, general ed and special ed. I love what I do and any child that needs help, should receive it.
