JAG Voice Teaching

For a student's first voice lesson I first have a five-minute discussion with them. I ask them if they have ever taken singing lessons before, what their goals and issues as a singer are, what genres of music they like, and who some of their favorite singers are. Then I teach them about alignment (posture). Then I teach them about breathing and have them do a breathing exercise. Then I test and record their vocal range and tell them their range and voice type. Then I teach them the vocal registers and have them do exercises in the register that I feel they're strongest at, then the opposite one, and then their mixed voice. Then I have them apply the concepts they learned into reportoire. 

I have a certificate in vocal coaching from New York Vocal Coaching, one of the best vocal coach training programs in the world. I also have a certificate of membership from The International High IQ Society.

I charge the average for vocal coaches, which is $30 per half hour, but I am negotiable and willing to beat others' prices. As for tutoring other subjects, I also charge the average, which is $23 per hour.

I got started teaching my mom and cousin for free, then I signed up for lessons.com and got clients there.

I was coaching my mom and I unlocked her resonance. She was belting with a very closed mouth and a nasal placement, and I got her to open up her voice and the result was astounding. She said it was what she sounded like when she was young. She couldn't stop giggling!

Don't tolerate wasting of your time and money. The coach should be spending every minute of your time helping you.
