About

Hello!

I'm Patrick, and I am quite excited to offer tutoring services for the subjects of Literature (American, British and World Lit.), English, Writing, Spelling, Grammar, Essay Composition and many other Language Arts!

I have a passion for the English language, reading, essay-writing, spelling and grammar. This passion for the subject of Language Arts has existed in me for almost my entire life. I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to share these passions with students across Western New York!

Prior to beginning my current position with the Dept. of Veterans Affairs, I was a substitute teacher in ELA (English/Language Arts) in Lancaster Central School District, a position that was tremendously rewarding.

I was blessed with the ability to comprehend Language Arts at a high level. As such, in 2002 and 2003, I became a Scripps-Howard National Spelling Bee Finalist by winning two consecutive Western New York Regional Spelling Bee titles. My two appearances in the Scripps-Howard National Spelling Bee Championship remain one of my proudest achievements to this day.

I believe I have a wealth of knowledge in the overarching subject of Language Arts, as well as in Writing, Literature, Spelling and Grammar. Therefore, I have a tremendous amount of faith in my ability to help any student achieve his/her goals in any of the above subjects and/or to become highly proficient in Language Arts (a very valuable subject in which to achieve proficiency).

Please feel free to contact me at any time with any questions, comments or concerns via e-mail at [email protected] or via phone at 716-984-7761.

I look forward to assisting you and the student(s) in your life very soon!

Frequently asked questions

I like to begin by assessing the student's needs, addressing any student/parent concerns/questions, as well as by mapping out a pathway to attain any/all goals that the student/parent has for the endeavor.

By assessing goals and the needs of the student, I can determine the most effective way to tutor that student and do so in the most efficient way possible.

In 2002 and 2003, I was a finalist in the Scripps Howard National Spelling Bee, representing the Buffalo News (Buffalo and 9 counties of Western NY).

In 2016, I tutored students in SAT/ACT prep. Both of my students not only achieved the scores they needed in order to be accepted into their first choice of college, but also greatly surpassed their desired SAT/ACT scores and as a result, earned scholarships to their colleges of choice.

Most recently, during the 2020-2021 school year, I temporarily joined the faculty of Lancaster Central School District as a Substitute Teacher. I mostly preferred to substitute for teachers in one of several elementary schools or in one of the two district middle schools. In that role, I mainly taught English/Language Arts and/or Literature classes.

I firmly believe in discussing pricing options with students/parents/family in order to come up with a plan that works best for the student in question. In general, pricing will be dependent upon a variety of factors, including but not limited to: the incoming skill level of the student, the goals/desires of the student as per the subject and the depth of knowledge or any/all additional resources required by the student/parents/family.

I would be more than happy to discuss pricing options and come to a suitable arrangement with you!
