High School Math & SAT/ACT
About
I start by assessing students' weaknesses. Standardized exams include various topics at different difficulty levels. Identifying and working on weak topics and the correct level of difficulty produced the greatest result in the shortest time. This style also develops long-lasting study habits your children will use for a lifetime. I find it's best to start as early as Middle School to develop the correct foundation. Once in High School, I strive to reinforce the correct foundation and master intermediate and advanced topics through 9th and 10th grade. By the junior year, the student should have a strong grasp of basics and intermediate topics and focus turns to advanced and higher topics for those who want to score in the top 1% on college entrance exams.
I developed my approach when studying for the CFA exam. This is the most difficult professional exam in finance that requires 3 years of testing and 6 hours for each exam. Later I applied this with my own children. Starting early with my son helped him get into Stuyvesant High School and later into the University of Chicago. Currently working with my daughter in 10th grade and she is testing top 1% on these college entrance exams.
If your goal is to get into an elite university then you need to show your ability and willingness to go beyond the rest. Free consultation to see if you qualify.
