Tutoring with me is focused on each student's individual goals. I deeply listen to determine what any needs are - where there are gaps or challenges in the learning process then addressing those while also moving toward the bigger goal. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and writing plus an honor's certificate in urban social studies. Before tutoring, I worked 25 years as a paralegal and freelance journalist. As a current undergraduate college student, I have worked with a variety of other students to help them achieve their goals at better grades and better test scores. I will tend to the students’ needs whether they’re more of a visual based learner or auditorial based. I will find strategies to help them do what’s right for them. If a parent is concerned about certain topics, I will gladly listen and adjust to meet everyone’s needs.

I graduated in December of 2022 from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Forensic Psychology. Writing is a passion of mine, which I did quite often in college. I currently frequently write in my free time. I love kids and have two of my own so I’m a very patient person. I will be sure to provide the best of my knowledge to any children I work with. I want everyone I tutor to leave each session feeling more confident in their learning material. I welcome any and all parental feedback & will alter my methods as needed.

I have been teaching in CCSD for seven years, and I have been teaching privately in reading, writing and math for twenty years. I specialize in kiddos with dyslexia and other processing disorders. I have a solid background with research-based protocols from the University of Utah Reading Clinic and many other proven approaches that align with the standards in Nevada schools. I love what I do, and I do it well. I create lasting relationships with my students while building their confidence and skills.
