About
I will peronally tutor your student in math and make sure he/she understands the basic fundamentals. Math is composed of building blocks where one topic builds upon another. I will help to fill the gaps your student may have. I fully believe ALL students have the ability to learn the math and that it is just a matter of engagement and effort.
I began my post-secondary adventure by obtaining an Associate's Degree in Applied Science Human Services. I then continued on to earn my bachelor's degree in Psychology and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Montclair State University in New Jersey. Finally, I most recently graduated from UNLV with a Master's Degree in Special Education. I am currently in my 4th year of teaching resource math in the Clark County School District.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The first thing I will do when working with a new student is attempt to build a positive rapport with the student. I want the student to trust me and understand that I will be there to help him/her understand math better. I will then assess the student to see what the student knows/doesn't know. I will use that data to guide my instructional decisions and focus on the gaps the student may potentially have. All students are different. Therefore I will develop individualized lessons to work with the student in his/her area of need.
