Christian ELA Tutoring
About
I am a graduate of the iTeachAZ program at Arizona State University. I have experience working with kids grade levels PreK all the way to 5th grade. I have six years of classroom experience and I love to work on reading/writing skills. I understand that at times reading and writing can be difficult but I make it simple and fun to accomplish. I can work on strictly IEP goals along with any other ELA grade level standards if needed. I am an educator who truly loves to work with kids and help them reach their academic goals. I have a Gmail account and use google classroom to provide my services. This helps your student to become better familiar with word processing programs and research skills. Which is very important for High School and College success. The last reason why you should consider me is because I got into education not for Summer off and all the holidays, it is simply because I love to teach.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I usually start with identifying needs or struggles the student is having. This can be done by student assessment or a phone/FaceTime with the student. I am also willing to meet with parents virtually as well.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Dual teaching degree from Arizona State University. As well as 5 years of classroom experience.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I charge a hourly rate of 80$ an hour. I hear my instruction to fit the students needs so it is very individualized. I will make sure your student achieves the growth they need.
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching right after I graduated in 2014. My student teaching program is called the iTeachAZ program at ASU. It requires you to student teach for 2 years versus some programs only have you do field work for 6 weeks. I got my first teaching job in a Pre-K autism classroom. Then moved on to teach 3rd grade at the inclusion level. I currently teach 5th grade.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with General Education students and special education students.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
This event isn't recent but I will always treasure the day my daughter was born.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Make sure you pick an educator who gets to know your strengths and areas to work on. Also be willing as a student to put the work in and to not be afraid to try new concepts.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Focus solely on the areas that you struggle with and the areas you feel confident in. That way your tutor knows what type of concepts you need to work on. It will make the time you have with your tutor more productive.
