About

I have over 10 years of tutoring experience, including 8 years at a boutique test preparation company where I have enjoyed working with students to maximize their academic success. I have tutored over two hundred and fifty private clients, as well as several group classes. In my time tutoring, I have developed a teaching style that stresses clarity, transparency, and accessibility through the use of techniques catered to an individual student's method of processing and applying information. My method helps students to identify with and comprehend core testing concepts, rather than rely on memorization which may fail them at exam time. This presentation of testing materials energizes my students and motivates them to maintain the dedication to surpass their existing goals. Communication between student, parent, and teacher is an integral part of the test prep process, and I welcome my clients to contact me at any time via phone or email if I can be of any assistance with assignments, test planning, or academic advice.

My scores:

SAT: 2400

Math: 800

Reading: 800

Writing: 800

SAT Math I Subject Test: 800

SAT Math II Subject Test: 800

AP Calculus BC: 5

ACT Composite: 36

English: 36

Math: 36

Reading: 36

Science: 36

My dedicated SAT students frequently exceed 200 point score increases, with some students achieving 300 to 500 point score gains. For the ACT, 3-5 point composite increases are common, with some students achieving 6-8 point gains. I am passionate about all sections of the SAT and ACT, as well as all levels of math from basic arithmetic and pre-algebra to calculus C and look forward to helping future students achieve their academic goals.

I am a graduate of Tufts University with a BA summa cum laude in biology and economics. I graduated from the University of Connecticut School of Dental medicine (DMD) and Weill Cornell Medical College (MD), and am currently a resident in training in the New York Presbyterian Hospital in the Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

I maintain teaching hours on weekday evenings and weekends in the New York City area and online.

Please contact me to discuss your test prep goals!

My favorite part of tutoring is seeing a student's hard work pay off!

    Frequently asked questions

Learning about a new student's experiences, successes, and failures with a particular topic is important in helping me evaluate learning styles, goals, motivations, and avenues for success.

I have been teaching all sections of the SAT and ACT, as well as math (arithmetic, algebra, geometry, statistics, calculus) and science (biology, chemistry) from beginner level to AP for 12 years. I am experienced in one-on-one (in person and online) and small class teaching.

I began tutoring as a summer job in college, and never anticipated that 12 years later, I would love it as much as I do.

A student of mine recently contacted me to tell me she was accepted into a combined BA-MD program from high school.
