I have been working with Rachel from Dewey Smart for my son’s 8th grade ELA class. She is professional, punctual and flexible. All the Dewey Smart tutors I had were extremely helpful. They always came with thought-out lesson plans and made sure I understood the topic before we moved on. My average test score in AP Chemistry increased by 15 points after starting. The tutors were always very easy to schedule the next appointment with and were always prepared for the session.

We hired Michael to help our daughter with the college application process & test prep for her ACT/SAT tests. So far, she has been working on her supplemental essays and on gathering information for scholarships, schools, etc., She is also working on improving her tests scores and gaining extra practice in any subject she may have any weak areas in.
It has been a huge relief for our daughter, and us as well, to have extremely bright and knowledgeable advisors helping to ensure that she has what she needs to move forward in this process! Everything has gone extremely well, and the Dewey Smart team is very professional and very helpful. We get an update after each session stating what they worked on and what she’ll be working on in the next session. We are very very happy with our decision to hire Dewey Smart!

How did you get started teaching?
Dewey Smart started in a Columbia University dorm room when our Founder Michael Gao began providing online sessions with students at his old high school. From there, we've grown to a team of 50+ Tutors & College Counselors who have helped thousands of students around the country!
