Frequently asked questions

I like to begin with a discussion of goals for tutoring and establish the end date for tutoring if we are studying for a test or assessment. After this I like to go into a one-hour session wherein I can assess the skills of the student in Math and ELA. From this I can build a curriculum that meets both the goal and time frame the student has set.

I have a Master of Education and a New York State certification in PreK-12. I also bring eight years of classroom experience to my tutoring.

My lessons are $100 per hour.

I started teaching in 2012 in after school programs as part of my undergraduate requirements. After graduation, I moved into a classroom full time. In 2019, I left the classroom to begin working as a professor!

I've worked with a huge variety of students. I like to think of myself as a student whisperer. I find that most students want to learn and succeed, but don't know how to do so. I pride myself on adjusting my lessons to fit every type of learner!
