About
I am an upbeat and patient tutor with experience working in education. During my four undergraduate years, I took a myriad of classes spanning from writing about historical works of art to tracing and analyzing outbreaks of disease throughout the world, ultimately graduating on the Dean’s list. As part of my studies, I had the immense privilege of taking two childhood education courses that included hours of practical teaching in an elementary school. I taught at the same school for both courses, working one on one with students on their classwork, reading and writing skills, as well as assisting teachers in the classroom. While at the school, I had the opportunity to implement the techniques taught within my courses and develop methods that worked for each individual child.
Additionally, in the past, I have worked as a nanny, requiring me to assist children with their homework and school projects. My double major in Public Health and Studio Art enabled me to frequently employ visual aids while teaching, in addition to material for auditory and kinesthetic learners. While online learning is becoming increasingly common, I believe there is an increased need for engagement and passion for learning. I have experienced firsthand how valuable the skills I learned in school can be, both personally and professionally, and would love to impart those same skills to those still in school.
I really enjoy seeing students make progress, and develop their skills in school!
