About

My career in Computer Science started when I was 11 years old, working with basic computer peripherals and then learning about applications. I started programming when I was 15. Back in college, when I majored in Business and Computer Science, I developed a couple of open-source projects and tutored high school students the AP Computer Science in the past. I love teaching students to code and work with IT. We work together by understanding concepts and then learn to apply them practically. You'll learn skills that are actually useful (most services teach fancy concepts but are never used in the real world).

My passion for Math goes way back since I was a kid, and it led me to begin my "tutoring career" by helping my classmates out after school and even elementary kids too. So I have experience working with students of all ages. My main goal is to facilitate students and teach them to use their cognitive abilities when working with problems. This way, they'll be more confident in tests and they won't "blank out."

While in school, I would travel to other schools and after-school programs to help students with their homework, prepare them for tests and build their confidence. It's important to note that it's the student that writes that test, not the tutor. I even ran a club in high school that teaches how to tutor and perfect skills because I wanted to share my knowledge so others can tutor.

Check out my profile and the different packages I offer! I look forward to working with you!

I love to learn more about my students. It's not only students that learn something new every day but also their tutor. I love to work with students and work together as a team together rather than be a superior figure to them.

I’m 42 and I haven’t taken a math class since HS (1995). Abhi taught me algebra from scratch and tutored me through Algebra 121. There is no way I could’ve learned it on my own, let alone pass the class without him.
He was available when I needed him and spent as much time as necessary, sometimes 3-4hrs a night. I highly recommend Abhi to anyone. Abhi is a math BEAST!

It was great, I was able to understand a lot of new Computer Science topics especially topics that I didnt understand like Polymorphism and so on. He also helped me a lot with specific Java coding which was great. Regarding math, he helped me understand why I got certain SAT Math problems wrong which was incredibly helpful because I could figure out where I needed to improve. Overall, great tutor!

I like working with Abhi because he explains in full detail in any part of the subject. And he knows the subject thoroughly. I asked him a question and he explained it and also gave a great example. I would like to have more classes with him.

Frequently asked questions

The first session is a more relaxed session. I take the time to not only know more about my student but also see their mathematical/computer science abilities. From there I ask them what their main goal is in the subject and what will they need me for. Having them construct a goal will allow them to stay focused rather than come for an hour and work on anything.

I have taken 4 years of math in high school and I am currently taking it in college, so I am still in touch with the subject. My past experiences gave me the insight to work better with students and I feel this is more crucial than ever.

Mentioned earlier, I have experience since I was 11. I made projects since then and tutored students in computer science for the past 4 years.

For K-12 Math, I usually suggest an hour. I charge $40/hr

Life happens. I get it. If you can't make the session please let me know.

For Computer Science: I usually charge $60/hr.

If it is a project/ assignment where a student needs temporary help, I do one of the following:
  1. Charge 100-300 dollars and they can spend as much time (no hourly limit) as they need with me (we can work the rates if needed). Note that this rate varies based on the help you need.
  2.  The student can buy hours from me. (an a la carte sort of thing)  $65/hour. They can divide the time however they need to and can schedule time with me beforehand. There is a cancellation fee. For instance, you can buy 2 hours (90 dollars in total) and you can divide that time to your needs. Say you want to have your first session be 20 minutes, you can schedule that time with me and we can have a video call for 20 minutes and work on whatever you like. You will then have 1 hour and 40 minutes left. Once hours run out, you can buy them again.

I started in middle school when I used my lunch time to teach my friends math. We would group together during lunch and I would help them in anything they find confusing. It helped them so much that they became more confident in tests. I wanted to help more people, so I continued to teach and tutor since then.

I have worked with elementary students in the beginning and then I have worked with Middle School Students and High School Students in recent years. I also prep college students in their courses as well.

I am a Boston Celtics Fan and I love playing the drums ;)

Find someone that can not only help you but someone you can connect with. Teachers are facilitators and mentors so find someone with a balance.

Do you need tutoring? If so, why? What do you expect from your tutor?
