What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First session is focused on getting to know the student and making sure they feel comfortable and explaining how tutoring will work each time. Depending on what they need help with, assessing those areas and finding strengths and needs. I am able to use those evaluations to create lesson plans that support the student's individual needs.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Student teaching in 2013 and 2014, working with students in grades pre-k, 1, 2, 3, and 4. Teaching special education 2014-2018 grades 2, 4 and 5. I have worked with students in tutoring sessions since 2014. Students in grades kindergarten up to middle school. I have worked with high school students for SAT and ACT prep and college students for GRE prep.
