About
I am a veteran classroom teacher with much experience who really enjoys interacting with students, helping them improve and feel comfortable with the subject matter! I have many notes from satisfied and appreciative clients, indicating that I helped them significantly improve their SAT/ACT scores, create an impactful college essay, feel more comfortable in their English or History classes to write that research paper or give an oral presentation. I tutor in my in- home office or via Skype.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I try to zero in on exactly where the areas of educational needs are and help the student feel comfortable with the process, constantly assessing growth.... with lots of positive reinforcement along the way!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I earned my undergraduate degree at Penn State and my Masters degree in education from the University of Pennsylvania. I have taken many educational enrichment courses along the way, have been department supervisor of other teachers, have created courses, and have taught teachers methodolgy.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Currently, my rate is $90 per full hour for SAT and ACT, SSAAT (and all other test prep) tutoring as well as classroom subject tutoring.
For all college work, essay writing, college list determination, etc, my rate is $115.
How did you get started teaching?
I always loved middle and high school, and I have always been invigorated by the educational environment. When I attended college, I knew that I could only pursue a career when the "work" wasn't really "work", and could be great fun. I still find interacting with students quite enjoyable, and I feel my students pick up on my positivity, and as a result, they can feel comfortable and involved in the learning experience.
What types of students have you worked with?
I work with students Grade 6 through college. I work with all intelligence levels, from learning different to the academically gifted, and many in between.
