About

Here at North-East Corridor Tutoring, we strive to provide the best fit for you as a student. We will assess your needs and match you with the right tutor for you. We’re a small business and only have your best interests in mind. All of the tutors at NEC are highly qualified in their fields and very experienced in tutoring one on one.

We have a facebook that we can be reached at with any questions @nectutoring as well as a gmail at [email protected].

We all very much enjoy building relationships with our students. We believe that students work best when they like what they're working on. There is nothing more rewarding than a concept clicking in place and the feeling of accomplishment the student gains when that happens.

Frequently asked questions

When a student contacts us with interest, the first thing we do is assess their needs. Cas, the manager of NEC, will reach out over email to do this. Then a phone call will be set up so we can get to know each other and go over the tutoring process! For the first meeting, Cas will meet with you, introduce you to your tutor, and answer any questions or concers you have. We like you to be as comfortable as possible.

Our tutors range greatly in their experience. One, Matt, has a doctorate in physics from princeton and is also highly educated in chemistry. Rachel works very well with Logic, and Cas is highly educated in Psychology, Social Sciences, and pre-college education. We all have extensive tutoring experience. Cas has 3 years of experience tutoring and mentoring students with intelectual disabilities.

We charge based on the amount of experience we have in what you're looking for. our top rate is $60 dollars an hour and that is for Physics, Chemistry, or Math with Matt, our tutor with a doctorate in these fields from princeton. All of the rest of our rates are under $60.

Cas had a job at Mercer County Community College working with college students with intelectual disabilities and realized their passion for teaching. Matt taught classes and tutored on an individual level at Princeton and continues to do so. We all love to watch students begin to understand topics they struggle with and that's why we formed NEC Tutoring.

As mentoned before, Cas has multiple years of experience tutoring and mentoring students with intelectual disabilities. On top of that, they generally work with intermediate, middle, and high schoolers on general education classes like English and lower level mathmatics. They tutor College students in GenEd classes and all level Psychology classes.

The rest of our tutors prefer to work with students of higher education in their field, such as AP Mathmatics, Science courses, and college students.

When a student is looking to match with a new tutor, they should make sure that the tutor cares about their learning styles and is a good fit for them. If there is no baseline caring from the tutor, the relationship can feel cold and uncomfortable. This is why NEC goes out of our way to get to know about you as a student and as a person!

Students should know their own learning style. They should also know what kind of help they're looking for, whether that be test prep or concept comprehension.
