Katharine Walto

Hi, I’m Katharine! I’m a Psychology major in the Honors Program at The Catholic University of America, and I’m passionate about helping students feel confident, capable, and in control of their learning. With experience as a teaching assistant for AP U.S. History and a college tutor, I’ve supported students from elementary through high school in subjects including reading, writing, history, and math (through Algebra I).

Working with me means learning in a supportive, low-pressure environment. I take time to understand each student’s unique strengths and struggles so I can adapt my teaching style to fit their needs. I focus on building a strong foundation and encouraging questions, because I believe the best learning happens when students feel safe to explore and make mistakes.

I bring not only academic strength, but also empathy, organization, and a love for seeing students grow. Whether your child needs regular homework help, support preparing for an exam, or someone to boost their confidence, I’ll bring patience, clarity, and professionalism to every session.
