am so grateful to Brooke Fargnoli and thrilled to recommend her after she tutored my daughter in reading. She is highly experienced, skilled, knowledgable, creative, patient, and warm. After doing an initial assessment, Brooke took the time and care to teach my daughter developmentally appropriate decoding skills while creatively accommodating her learning differences. Brooke did this while being in line with both the expectations of our school district as well as with the most recent educational research and motivational techniques. She provided us with strategies to use at home and was generous with her time in explaining the techniques to us. She was exceptionally creative and patient and my daughter was excited to work with her and learn to read with her! Brooke is a gem and my daughter is now a very happy reader.

Brooke Fargnoli tutored my son during his middle school years. My son has speech delays and attention deficit disorder. It was hard for him to sit for more than 15 minutes. At that time, he tried to avoid any language lessons and hated reading. Brooke modified her lesson plan and used a timer, frequent breaks, and a reward system to help him. With Brooke’s patience and hard work, the one-hour session became fun and enjoyable. Over time, my son expanded his vocabulary and improved his reading skills. Now, he likes to read a little bit every night before he goes to sleep. We couldn’t thank Brooke enough for her time and effort.

AM

Adam's m.

Mrs. Fargnoli seemed to have a second sense of what manner of teaching was best for Adam and was keenly aware of his deficits and difficulties. She was able to identify his strengths and weaknesses and I have seen him progress immensely across multiple subject areas this year. He has greater confidence and now looks forward to academic challenges, as opposed to shying away from them. For the first time since Adam started public school, I actually felt some relief knowing that his needs were being met and have had my own confidence renewed in the public education system. Mrs. Fargnoli serves as the epitome for what a special education teacher should be.

Frequently asked questions

Before meeting the student, I like to have an in depth discussion with mom or dad to understand what's going on. At the first session, I first try to make the child comfortable by taking an inventory of his or her interests, struggles, and strengths. Then I'll do informal assessments based on the discussion with mom and dad to pinpoint exactly what the child needs to work on and will then build a customized lesson plan moving forward.
