About

I’m a high school student who recently scored a 35 on the ACT and preparing for the AP exam in May. I have an A in AP biology and Chemistry and a 4.0 unweighted GPA. I help struggling high school biology students better understand concepts to score better on their exams.

What I love about teaching is that “aha” moment in the student when everything comes together and makes sense. It’s a really rewarding experience and it helps me do better in my own class as well.

The experience was sooo personalized. Emma looked over a test of mine (i was failing at this time btw) and pinpointed exactly what i needed to learn. instead of just making me memorize things, she made sure i actually understood them. My grade went from a D+ to an A-, and my sisters went from a B to an A. I wouldn’t have passed without her - she better than any teacher at school!!

She was hands-down the best tutor I have ever had. She thoroughly answered all my questions, was patient when explaining concepts and made sure I understood what I was doing before moving on to the next topic. I never felt rushed or confused when she helped me.

Frequently asked questions

What’s worked best for me in the past is having my students ask the questions and explain back to me the concepts, and I help them fill in the blanks. It proves more effective than me lecturing the entire time.

I interned at a biotherapeutics company in the summer of 2018. I ended Honors Biology with an A, and have an A currently in AP Biology. I studied extensively for the Bio Olympiad in February 2019 and am studying now for the SAT II and AP exam.

I am in the tutoring club at my school, where I taught math to underclassmen. I’ve taught piano to children, and tutored many of my freshman friends outside of the club in honors biology. I also tutor for Science National Honors Society.

I’ve worked with a variety of students, from kindergartners to middle schoolers to high school freshmen and sophomores.

I’m here to answer any questions; no question is “stupid”. It’s better to ask plenty of questions than to struggle through something alone or get them wrong.
