I am writing to recommend Melanie Kaiserman. Melanie has been tutoring my 12 year old son for a year now and I have gotten to know her well. Since I work in an ER and my time is a lot more limited these days, I will get straight to the point. My son is a bright kid. However sports are his focus and it has been an ongoing challenge to get him to settle in to academics. While he does enjoy learning and can do math that I can not do, his focus waxes and wanes depending on his mood. I have come to find out that this actually is pretty common in his age group. Since he is on a team that requires 5 hours of time a day, his study time is limited and has to be efficient. His schedule is chaotic and his school is known for being the most challenging elementary program in the county, if not the state. While I would love to just move him to an easier school, he has chosen to stick it out. I can surely help with science but I literally can not do a word of French. I hired Melanie as a French tutor to teach him French. What I got however, was much more than a French teacher. Melanie is organized, efficient, and flexible. She has saved us. She has made our life easier. She is a " can do " person and literally has never let us down. He was in tears over an assignment, and she changed her day to help him. She planned her whole lesson and then a pop test emerged, she changed her lesson. She is patient, motivating, and calming for my son. He looks forward to his sessions. With Melanie's help, my sons average went from a 78 to a 98 in a few months. I honestly was just hoping to get by, I had no idea he would excel. Not only has his comprehension of French improved, but his focus and self-learning ability has improved. She has taught him invaluable techniques in memory, organization, and the process of learning. He is a better person because of this tutor. As for me, Melanie has accommodated our ridiculous changing schedules, inconvenient requests, and difficult assignments with ease and ability. She is a pro, no doubt. She can handle kids. Kids respond to Melanie and she clearly loves what she does. As far as hiring her for a job, she is dependable and reliable.
