Hello. Glad to make your acquintance. My name is Jun Seo. I am a rising sophomore at Tufts University, studying mathematics and quantitative economics. I also work as a middle school teacher.
*Please Read* Excel+ services extend to only Glen Rock and Ridgewood, NJ. I tutor in-person or online.
The mission of Excel+ is to spark passion for mathematics, help students build their confidence with math, and develop practical, logical reasoning. All of this is to promote sustained interest in mathematics through middle school, high school, and even college!
*Excel+ also offers SAT tutoring services (for english and math)
*Beyond math tutoring, students will gain access to valuable advice for thriving in high school, preparing for the college process, and adjusting to college.
*No tutor books are required. However, if the student already has them, then that will serve to their benefit.
As a child, I too asked the question "When will we ever use this?"
Now, as an adult, I know that the applications of mathematics are far-reaching and relevant to my life. From large-scale tasks, such as budgeting, to small-scale tasks, such as paying a tip after lunch, sharp math skills come in handy all the time. I love teaching students the practical uses of math in their daily lives to excite them about the math they are going to learn. While a passion for math is innate for many, it can be developed for all with the right teaching and instruction.
I found my passion for teaching during my time as a part-time teacher. Meeting new students, befriending, and getting to know them personally always remind me that a good student-teacher relationship is the road to success for students.
