Smarty Pants Tutoring

My teaching philosophy is that all students can reach their highest potential when given the proper tools to do so. I am an educator with 14 years of teaching and tutoring experience. I have a B.A. from Rutgers University as well as K-8 Teaching Certification. I was awarded Outstanding New Teacher in Urban Education presented by the Department of Urban Education at Rutgers.

I am incredibly skilled at tailoring instruction to meet the learning needs of my students to ensure their academic success. I work hard to engage students, and keep them engaged, throughout the duration of my lessons. It is important that the learner feels supported and develops confidence throughout the learning process. My goal as a tutor is to guide my students through the learning process to help him/her reach their highest potential. I have achieved this by establishing a rapport with each student so that they may feel at ease and build confidence in their own capabilities through the support and encouragement that I provide. As a teacher, there is nothing better than seeing students make progress, no matter how big or small, as they continue to grow on their path to becoming life-long learners.

What I enjoy most about the work I do is seeing the growth in student abilities and academic progress. It is an incredibly rewarding feeling knowing that I have the ability to help someone meet their academic goals.
