Math Blink Tutoring
About
My service is a one-on-one service in which I tackle math problems along with my students in order to show my students the entire process of how to tackle a problem they may come across in their classrooms, tests, or the real-world. I like to prepare test prep questions and reference sheets for my students to practice outside of our study sessions--just as I would for myself. Additionally, I encourage asking questions. I love asking questions, and in return, I would answer any question presented to me to the best of my ability. If I do not have the answer, I will scavange the internet and other resources to find answers for my students.
I find answering math questions quite satisfying. It feels like I made a great accomplishment when I worked through a math problem for the past half hour, have several pages of work, and finally come to the correct answer. I wish that my students will come to feel at least of fraction of the same satisfaction when they tackle math problems.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
My typical process involves asking the student exactly what they need the most help with. They may point out certain topics or bring questions from class that really troubled them. I work through practice problems along with them to get a feeling of their actual understanding. Then, depending on how well they understand the topic, I may teach one-on-one with them, show them techniques and my methodology, and or look for practice and video resources that I found useful to my understanding of the topic.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have taken and excelled in math courses throughout every single year of highschool, including: Geometry, Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, Calculus BC, Calculus III/Multivariable Calculus, and Calculus IV/Differential Equations. Additionally, I have prior tutoring experience with teaching Calculus AB.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I usually do about $30/hour of tutoring, but prices can be negotiated.
How did you get started teaching?
I got started teaching when I found that a family friend of mine was having a lot of trouble with their Calculus AB class. From the experience, I have found that I can also help out other students that may be troubled in math, especially Calculus AB/BC.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have primarily worked with highschool students. Occasionally, I have worked with elementary students.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Do I really understand this fully? Do I want to know more about this topic? Do I feel extremely confident in this subject or do I actually need more help with a few things?
It is ALWAYS ok to ask a question. Asking a question allows students to satisfy their curiosity and need to learn, and they should never be afraid to ask a question.
