Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I start with a free 30-minute consultation. I use this time to discuss with the student where they feel stuck and get an idea if this is an academic deficit or a confidence/study deficit. This usually includes asking questions to try and diagnose their specific problem.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been tutoring students since I was in high school and went on to become a credentialed teacher.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I start with the 30-minute consulatation stated above for free (online only). Then my rate is $30 an hour online and $40 an hour in person.
I offer group discounts, $20 an hour per head up to 5 (online) and $30 an hour per head up to 5 in person.
For groups of 6 or more please contact me for a quote.
How did you get started teaching?
I started when I was 15 years old and needed community service hours. Little did I know that decision would impact the rest of my life so heavily! Two degrees and a teaching credential later, I am doing what I love and am passionate about.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students across the academic spectrum. GATE students, college prep students, as well as students with learning disabilities and social-emotional disabilities. My teaching experience is eclectic.
