About
Enthusiastic Tutor looking for students who need extra assistance.
I will do my very best to help the student achieve his or her goals.
Whether those goals are to get a passing grade or to get an A in the class or to prepare for the next class.
My teaching experience includes Adjunct Instructor in Math at a Community College. I taught remedial Math to help prepare students to take college level Math classes.
I work as a volunteer tutor in Math for the Somerset County volunteer services where I teach several students from 5th grade level Math to the high school level classes. I also tutor college level Math classes.
I have also taught several classes in computers and physics.
My education includes a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering from New Jersey Institute of Technology.
In addition to the Math requirements for a Mechanical Engineer I have 15 additional credits in Mathematics.
I have also completed the class “An Introduction to the Teaching Profession.” This is needed to become a certified High School Math Teacher.
I can offer help in any Math from 5th grade through college level. I am willing to work with individual or with small groups. I will make every effort to insure that my students accomplish their goals.
I listen carefully to my students to understand their individual issues and goals.
I adjust the lessons to these goals whether these goals are to pass the next test or this class or if the student needs a strong understanding in Math to pursue more advanced classes.
I know that all people do not learn the same way. If one approach does not work with a student then
I will find other approaches until we find one that works.
I find in many cases when a student is having a problem with Math one of the issues is neatness and organization.
I have a lot of experience and I have been successful in helping students with this type of issue.
I have recently retired and this allows me an open and very adjustable schedule and I can also be flexible with my rates.
I like Math and I do enjoy getting others to understand Math.
