I am currently on my 6th year as a 5th grade language arts teacher. I am very familiar with this age group, but would love to work with older and younger students as well! I have experience tutoring ages ranging from Preschool through 5th grade.
I absolutely love helping children and making a difference in their lives! If I can help a child to see their potential and to believe in themselves, then I have achieved my goal as an educator.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Before working with a new student, I like to build a rapport, and get to know the child both academically and socially as well. Knowing a childs likes and dislikes makes working with the child much easier. I would then give the student different assignments that would help me gauge where the child falls in the subject I will be tutoring them for, so that I can plan accordingly.

I am currently. on my sixth year teaching 5th grade.

How did you get started teaching?
I love children and working with them so I knew teacher was the right path for me.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked in general education classes as well as inclusion. However, I am not special education certified.

Find someone that you feel you connect with and share interests with!
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
