About

I help students understand chemistry in a way that teachers often can't. My enthusiasm for the subject is contagious and many students have actually found chemistry to be fun and interesting after meeting with me. I love what I do and it comes through in my work.

Ariella is AMAZING! I came out of Organic Chemistry 1 confused as ever and Ariella retaught me half of the course over a couple of sessions which I never thought would be possible. She has such in-depth knowledge of everything I ask her about and explains it in a way that makes a lot of sense. I am continuing to meet with her while I take Organic Chemistry 2 because I would not understand anything if it wasnt for her!

She is excellent at breaking down complicated sections in organic chemistry and explaining them in detail in a way that is easy to understand. Also, learning felt very personalized because she spends a lot of time curating content, especially for students, which is incredibly helpful!

Ariella is professional and respectful. She knows her material well and is an expert on the subjects that she tutors. Ariella is a rare find, she is patient and ensures that her students understand the material before heading into an exam. Her explanations are clear and she uses multiple teaching strategies that are effective. Since being tutored by her, I have seen a dramatic improvement in my grades. I have enjoyed my experience with her and highly recommend her as a tutor.

Ariella was amazing. She first tutored my daughter in chemistry and made everything so easy for her to understand. Ariella even brought tools and models for her to use. My daughter started with a D in chemistry and Ariella help her end the year with a B plus. She also helped my daughter in AP physics and math. Best tutor ever.

Frequently asked questions

I like to meet up with students for a short session for free to see if we work well together. If the student feels comfortable with me and believes I can help, we set up a formal tutoring session. Otherwise, no harm done.

I graduated as the valedictorian from Kean University in 2020 and I am currently working toward a PhD in chemistry at Rutgers in New Brunswick. I've done very well in all of my chemistry related classes and tutored chemistry at Kean for 2 years. I have successfully tutored high school chemistry, general chemistry and organic chemistry as well. I currently work as the graduate student tutor for a Rutgers University program, tutoring around 15 hours per week. Before returning to school I worked as a paramedic for 12 years, as well as a CPR instructor for 5.

I charge $100/hour after the first 30 minute trial session. If multiple hours are needed at one time (i.e. exam prep), I charge less per hour. Online tutoring is available as well.

I began teaching CPR about 8 years ago. When I returned to school, I found that I was very good at helping my fellow students understand whatever material we were learning. I was asked to become a campus tutor, specifically for chemistry, where many students struggled. My sessions were always fully booked, and my students saw significant improvement in their grades.

I have tutored both high school and college level chemistry students. I work with students from all backgrounds, and am a tutor for a program specifically meant to help students from disadvantaged backgrounds succeed.

Find someone who makes the subject exciting and understandable for you. Someone you click with. It makes communication so much easier.

Know what your goal is. What are you expecting the outcome of this interaction to be? Do you want someone who will teach you from the ground up or someone to help you understand specific concepts? What are your learning weaknesses? What type of learner are you, and can the teacher accommodate that?
