About
Hi, I'm Ash, and I've been teaching math and reading for the past 11 years.
After teaching hundreds of students, I've developed my 3 Step Strategy, which has drastically boosted the test scores of my students all over America.
First, we'll identify and fix those areas that your student already knows but is repeatedly making errors. This alone boosts test scores by 100 points.
Next, we'll work on the topics and recurring questions for your specific test. 85% of test questions are repeated year after year with only slight changes. Just learning the best methods to solve these questions, and understanding these topics thoroughly, should take your score to a 700+ in SAT or get your a 5/5 in your AP courses.
Finally, we'll train your student in the 5 pillars of test-taking, so that they are fully ready to dominate the test by the time they take it. These strategies alone will increase your student's score without learning any new material.
Seeing my students perform extraordinarily well in tests, and improve their grades motivates me to put everything I've got into teaching!
Many students want to continue learning another related topic with me even after they've aced the test they were preparing with me. This is the biggest compliment I've ever received - it's a true validation that my teaching methods work very well, and it also keeps me going.
You've only got to try one free session, and you'll see why so many students like my strategies.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
For my new students, I first start with a free session. This gives them an opportunity to experience my teaching methods firsthand. It also helps me identify the topics we need to work on immediately. Then I set out to fix those issues through mutiple techniques from my 3-Step Strategy. Most students love my methods, and are guaranteed to see huge improvements within the next few weeks.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
In the past two decades, I have volunteered in a variety of teaching positions through organizations such as New York Cares and Teach for America.
My first experience was teaching SAT through these organizations where I meet students with varying levels of of motivations, and worked with them individually to understand their needs. Due to the overwhelming response from these students, I started teaching more courses, and even moved into teaching full-time.
My 11 years of teaching have taught me a lot, and eventually helped to develop a strategy which seamlessly helps students succeed in test-prep.
I have a two Masters degrees in Engineering. I learned from the best teachers at Columbia University (Financial Engineering, '03) before moving into a Wall Street job, and then finally into teaching.
