Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
During the coaching sessions we break down the accent, go through vowels, consonants, rhythm, along with melody and stress. I customize how I teach to each person, as everyone has their own unique accent and speech patterns. We also focus on trying to improve listening skills in order to make the correct sounds. The first session is a decent assessment on how to proceed and what kinds of learning styles work best for you.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been working as an actor and Dialect Coach since 2014 after launching my business while working and studying in drama school in London, England. After graduating from film school, I followed my dream and trained at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting in New York. My ear for languages, as well as my knowledge and love of music and cultures, sparked my passion for dialects which came years later. That spark became a fire when studying a non regional Mexican dialect. I later started working as an apprentice to various dialect coaches, where I gained on-set experience. Motivated to learn more, I gradually enhanced my proficiency in various dialects, as I was fascinated by the origin of language and specifically different accents. As my appreciation for the study of the history and development of diverse accents and languages grew, my interest in coaching emerged. Now I actively continue to train and build my knowledge of phonetics, transcribing, voice acting, and resonance which has taken me to different countries where I am happily increasing my expertise and adding new dialects to my list.
