Elementary Reading And Writing Tutoring

I came to teaching through coaching roller and ice hockey. I was excited about the opportunity to teach players to develop their skills, and to create team agreements, so that they could work together to create goals. I love teaching: Primary and Intermediate students (K-6) phonics, especially those who have been struggling. Students of all ages how to become a more engaged reader who begin to ask their own questions, pick up information quickly, and make connections between what they have read and are reading, their lives, and the world. Middle School and High School students to become effective writers who brainstorm, organize their ideas, provide supportive evidence, and include topnotch reasoning to get excellent grades in writing. Middle School and High School students to learn Math process skills as well as the concepts and skills of each subject: Geometry, Algebra 1.

I have worked with gifted students, average students, students who have a variety of challenges with language, attention, organization, and oral and written expression.
