Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First I get to know the students personally and what their needs are, whether it be studying for a class, an exam, or just learning for learning sake. Then I will make a plan that is suited for the goal and work with the student in concrete steps to achieve a practical goal.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have done teaching in NYU and Columbia University in different math courses.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I charge $50-60 per hour
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching as a graduate student in universities.
What types of students have you worked with?
All kinds! People with lot of math background, and people with minimal experience.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Think about what you could have tried or done before just asking for help. Then try it and if it still doesn't work, ask for help. But of course if you could do everything on your own, you wouldn't need a tutor! So categorize or verbalize what your issue exactly is.
