Hello,
I am a highly experienced tutor that has worked for elite tutoring companies which charge hundreds of dollars as hourly rates. I am very passionate about helping others and would like to build my own relationships with clients privately so I can offer my services for far lower prices! I am looking to really build relationships with my clients, and offer additional mentoring and career advice free of charge!
I have a B.S. from an Ivy League University and I am currently completing my Master of Engineering from another Ivy League institution. I have several years of professional work experience including a position as an Analyst at a top Investment Bank on Wall Street as well as Software Engineering experience at a Tech Start-up in NYC. I am a native New Yorker, who scored highly on the SHSAT and SAT. I have over 5 years of experience with tutoring subjects such as K-12 and College Reading, Writing and Math. What is your typical process for working with a new student?
My process for working with a new student is to first make a detailed assessment of the student, as well as have a detailed discussion with the student and/or parent regarding their goals. I will provide realistic expectations of what to expect, how many sessions I believe we should have, as well as frequent diagnostics and detailed summary reports of each and every session! There will be no surprises and I take pride in delivering results for my clients. I know how important academics are to each of my client's futures and treat this as the tremendous responsibility which it is. Students will always have access to my notes and video recordings of any online sessions. I am very responsive and have experience working with all types of students, including those with learning difficulties/disabilities. I take a very hands-on approach and make sure sessions are as engaging as possible. My goal is to cater to each client's specific weak points and to address them in the most effective way possible.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have over 5 years of experience with tutoring, and have spent over 2 years specializing in SAT/ACT Tutoring. Additionally, I have over 10 years of experience in quantitative fields, as well as several years of professional experience honing my writing and communication skills. I have both a Bachelor of Science and (expected 2020) Master of Engineering from Cornell University.
