About
My teaching style does not only focus on teaching academics, but on first empowering students by helping them develop the mindset that I strongly believe is a prerequisite to help them succeed, academically, and eventually in life. These mindset building practices are founded on the findings of growth-mindset and character development research. The context of the practices vary depending on the grade level and age of the students.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Step 1: Personal Introduction of each other, including background, perceived strengths and weaknesses, and goals for our time together
Step 2: Short lesson about growth mindset, goals and having purpose (depending on age / development stage)
Step 3: Work on goals (step by step)
Step 4: Celebrate your goal!
Step 5: Repeat Steps 3 & 4
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a masters degrees in educational psychology and childhood education. I also have followed character development research for the last 8 years, implementing it in my work in classroom. I taught in the classroom for 6 years and have been tutoring and working with students (K-12) for the at least 10.
How did you get started teaching?
I worked in Corporate America for at least 8 years before realizing I did not know what I wanted to actually do in my professional life. This sparked a passion for wanting to teach students what I wished I would have been taught about life and success.
What types of students have you worked with?
I've worked with students from K-12 grades, from teaching KG for 3 years to doing test prep. I've also worked with underserved and affluent students, which has helped me to clearly identify the different needs of these demographics.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I delivered my very first workshop on career empowerment where I used principles for character development as a means to help students create their ideal careers.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Students should ask questions that relate to their personal and academic interests and needs.
