Frequently asked questions

When I work with a new student I take the time to talk to them about their struggles and successes with education. I also ask about how they feel about different classes, and what makes them feel that way.

My priority when starting the tutoring process with a new student is to always make sure that they feel safe to make mistakes with me, and to show that I care about learning how to support them in the unique ways their educational journey requires.

I have a Bachelor's of Engineering degree from a Top 100 engineering school, which provides me with the technical background to effectively tutor STEM courses students take.

I also passed over 20 AP exams with scores of 4 or better, including AP Calculus AB/BC, AP Statistics, AP Physics C, and AP Computer Science. My extensive experience with AP exams provides an understanding of the specific review needs that AP exams place on students.

I believe education should be accessible to everyone. I make my best efforts to provide sliding scale pricing as needed to make sure tutoring is accessible to students.

My full rate is $35/hr. Clients who can pay that rate enable me to keep tutoring affordable to as many students as I can. If that rate is unaffordable to you, please be assured we can discuss individual accommodations.

My initial tutoring session was by the recommendation of a previous math teacher. She had let me know that a student was looking for help with their Geometry course and suggested that I reach out to their parents if I was interested in helping them.

We worked together for multiple years and I helped that student navigate their transition to their freshman year of high school.

I've worked with 8th-10th grade students, providing individualized academic support, sensitive to the challenges they faced as they navigated a difficult academic and social period in their lives.

I have also worked with undergraduate college students in STEM fields. I provided tutoring both in an extended capacity to support students needing help to pass a course, as well as in a walk-in capacity to support students who needed help with individual assignments.
