About
I connect with students and try to find the best learning strategies for them. I try to nurture a passion for learning instead of just helping them memorize information. I am fluent in both English and Spanish. I can tutor students in reading, writing, Spanish, general math, Pre-Algebra, Algebra, and Statistics and would be happy to adjust depending on the person's needs. I also focus on the social sciences, specifically Sociology. Being able to tutor various subjects in either language as well as a wide array of ages is something that I believe allows me to stand out from other tutors.
I love being able to work with students and seeing their progress. It makes me happy knowing I can help them reach their goals of becoming better and mastering a subject. I have a passion for education and this is what I am meant to do.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I ask questions to see what they already know and what they need help with. I try to get to understand their learning style, and what they are excited about and comfortable with. We work from there to connect familiar styles with dynamic, new ways of going about writing.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have an Associate's in Education and am currently in my senior year to obtain a B.A. in Sociology. I have worked for about 8 years tutoring children from ages 6-17 directly. I have met many wonderful families who have recommended me to others, and over the years I have tutored over 35 students. I also have experience working at a learning center and a daycare in which structure and feedback are extremely important.
How did you get started teaching?
I started tutoring children when I was about 13 years old as a little side job to pay for my school supplies. Families soon began recommending me to others, and over the years I have tutored over 35 students. I enjoyed it so much that I continued well into college. One of my students has been with me for 8 years simply because her parents enjoy how I am able to work and connect with her.
