Cristhian Velasquez

Hi! I’m Cristhian, a Spanish teacher from Peru with a passion for teaching, communication, and cultural connection. I’ve been teaching Spanish since 2023, working with teens and children both in classrooms and community learning spaces. While I’m still young, I bring solid experience, enthusiasm, and a creative mindset to every class.

I studied Secondary Education with a specialization in English for two years at the National University of Ucayali (Peru), and I’m currently pursuing a degree in Psychology at Bergen Community College in the U.S. My background in education gave me strong teaching fundamentals, while my psychology studies help me understand how students learn, stay motivated, and overcome personal challenges.

What I love most about teaching is watching my students grow—not just in their Spanish skills, but also in their confidence. For me, teaching is about more than grammar or vocabulary; it’s about helping people express themselves, connect with others, and enjoy the process of learning something new.

My classes stand out because I combine structure with creativity. You’ll find real conversations, Latin culture, music, games, and storytelling in my lessons. I focus on building a relaxed, positive space where you’re not afraid to make mistakes—because mistakes mean you’re learning!

I’m bilingual (Spanish–English), so I can explain clearly when you need support, especially if you're just starting out. I also use elements from my psychology background to help with memory, emotional confidence, and personalized learning strategies.
