Stocker's Online Math Tutoring
About
As a current high school teacher, I've dedicated six years to teaching, including five years at Gateway Regional High School. I taught 7th & 8th grade math, Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II. Having spent five years coaching basketball and a decade refining my tutoring skills, I understand the importance of mentorship and personalized learning. My college education at Rider University laid the foundation for my commitment to helping students build confidence in math.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Before starting academic content, I'd like to create a connection with the student. Finding things that student enjoys outside of school, thus allowing them to feel comfortable and in a safe learning envirnoment. Then I'd like to asses the student's mathematical knowledge to establish a baseline. From there, I would work on the most basic problem, allowing the student to gain some confidence. Once the student has a good enough grasp on the basics, slowly moving up to a more difficult question.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a certification in Secondary Education in Mathematics, in addition to prior hours in tutoring. I currently work as a high school math teacher at a school nearby. As a freshmen in college, I was apart of a small tutoring center that ran a course for students that did not pass the entry level test. This semester long course would prep the students for a college level math. As a tutor, I was a part of this program for three and half years while at college.
